thats an illogical ... ( 6 days ago by mrinalbuffy123)
thats an illogical question. how could AFD and CD come out at the same time? AFD is a product of its time and so is CD. why does it have to be either/or anyway? AFD has its own special place and im loving CD as well. whats the problem with that? what exactly have VR produced that has left AFD behind?
Illogical? That's ... ( 6 days ago by einarabelc5)
Illogical? That's the metaphore. When you realize how illogical it is to say such things you realize the reason why I am asking. Do you even know how the human mind works? How it learns? How artists create? I mentioned the word in my commentary but you inevitably failed to recognize it. I have one more for you, Decadent.

I know.Matt hated the Piano in Estranged, which is thier best pice. They only wanted to do Hard Rock, according to Matt. But thinking outside the box was what made GNR so great. Mostly that came from Axl I know. But being a tyrant without a conscience can only bring things down even more. Velvet is "almost GNR" but without Axl. The same happened to Pink Floyd when they kicked when they kicked Roger Waters. The only thing is that is more noticeble with GNR.
Nothing that's they ... ( 6 days ago by einarabelc5)
Nothing that's they point. When they are apart, they all suck. Doing Sweet Child of Mine live with Silent Hill is even worse than dying temporalily of a heart attack in an elevator.

haha! dont make me laugh by trying to teach me either the english language or lessons on creativity. nobody died and made you king of either of those things. your comparison WAS illogical. even if the original Guns were together today, there's no guarantee that they could produce something with the same impact as AFD. that album came out of a specific era and a specific time in those guys life. time didnt stop right then and there.
again, the whole " ... ( 6 days ago by mrinalbuffy123)
again, the whole "tyrant without a conscience" thing is just one interpretation of what happened. axl asserted more control over time but he was in a band with a lot of addicts. he couldnt step back and let it all rot. slash wanted the first snakepit album to be the next GNR album but both axl and duff thought it wasnt right. slash and gilby had diff views. it happens. not the end of the world.
i dont think it all ... ( 6 days ago by mrinalbuffy123)
i dont think it all sucks. VR has sme good songs and so do the new GNR. i'd love a reunion but i cant hold them all hostage to my wishes. thats like forcing ppl who are obviously on the verge of divorce to stay together. if a reunion happens, great. if not, i'll take the music i can get out of these guys.

I did illegal drugs with Axl, then I got a cold beer and he went out back to make some "extra" money, we were in Tulsa

Hey baby who named you biter of the month now huh? Can you yell a little more? I can't hear you yet. No matter what you say CD is a decadent album. As happened to santana it happens to every other musician. They are living organisms as their music and creativity is.
They're both in ... ( 5 days ago by einarabelc5)
They're both in their later ages now. Their golden era has passed. Of course they're not going to do anything good as they could. The word I meant is called Contrast. And it has nothing to do with English but psychology.Just in case. When everything else around sucks so bad. Something that's so so shines. Regarding your choice in taking their music because of its sake. I rather listen to new bands that have something to say.

hehe!im just talking. you need to turn the volume down on your hearing. :)
musicians certainly are living organisms- thats why CD is such a great depiction of what axl is now. there's an emotional maturity to the songs that he didnt have before. as for decadence, plz explain to me whats so "decadent" about CD? if anything, sleaze is noticably missing from the album.
again, thats your ... ( 5 days ago by mrinalbuffy123)
again, thats your opinion but you keep stating it as fact. i would definitely not agree that axl has nothing left to say. there's lots of interesting directions he's exploring on the album. of course nobody is forcing you or anybody to listen only to VR and GNR. listen to whatever you want and i'll listen to what i want.
Fair enough. Thanks ... ( 5 days ago by einarabelc5)
Fair enough. Thanks, thats refreshing. My point is just that they had their golden moment back in the UYI albums and its time to move on. Regarding the decadence, the word contrast is used to compare what once was great to the common denominator of what abounds now. Can you tell me that limp bizkit are as great as Metallica back at their prime or Dream Theater in the pull me under era? Of course CD is gonna get great reviews. It has no that much of a competition.
I find the album ... ( 5 days ago by einarabelc5)
I find the album rather sterile. It doesn't connect. Is musically mediocre and lazy. Is boring and unsurprasing and sometimes even anoying. I don't think I can even take it as an acquired taste. I don't see why take 14 Years, I mean 15. VR is mostly pop for me. There's an old saying that goes, My old grandfather change the hilt of his knife. When he gave it to my Dad, my dad changed the blade, but it still is my Grandfathers knife. Any which way GNR is no more, and that's what bothers me.
i understand that ... ( 5 days ago by mrinalbuffy123)
i understand that you miss the old GNR. that's natural. as i see it, the original Guns was always combustible and always losing members. GNR has changed shape but life goes on, you know. with CD, ive heard a lot of ppl say this and my personal experience with it also has been that you have to give it some time. at first it just feels cluttered with too much happening but over time, it all gels together.
i strongly disagree ... ( 5 days ago by mrinalbuffy123)
i strongly disagree about it being "mediocre"-its just a diff approach from the old Guns. they were about sharp hooks, catchy tunes. CD is much more complex, layered. the sleaze is gone. the testosterone is more muted. but thats natural. axl has grown up. its just a diff kind of enjoyment because his aproach has evolved.
as for the 15 years, he has another album's worth of material ready beyond CD. plus he's been fighting horrendous legal battles so that takes time too.
you know this is ... ( 5 days ago by mrinalbuffy123)
you know this is such a subjective thing. if you enjoy raw rock, then AFD is your thing. if you like new approaches, growth, complex song structure and lyrics then CD has lot of appeal. limp bizkit never appealed much to me. CD was up against impossible odds with the reviews and the public. all the talk about "taking 17 years" (quite innacurate) to make the album made it impossible to meet expectations. too much pressure plus a lot of ppl just have blind hatred for axl. yet it got good reviews.

As for Chineese Democracy it is a great album. SOmeone please tell me a better rock CD put out this century than CHineese Democracy.

Actually one of the main reasons I liked GNR over Metallica when everybody else said Metallica was the thing and hated Axl for using a piano in Rock(tell me about ignorance) back in the time,I realize now it was because of Axl's ideas. I mean the music in Estranged is so amazing that even then when I didn't spoke any english I understood the song perfectly. Once I read the lyrics I was amazed at the integration he accomplished.
Given that and the ... ( 4 days ago by einarabelc5)
Given that and the fact that I learned to play guitar(should have I chosen Slash's stuff?) and that I prefered that type of songs over other kind of the stuff GNR made, makes you wonder why was he such a tyrant. You have to check the backstage videos when they went on tour with Metallica to see what I mean.

The reason axl left was because he thought he could open for BOB seger and the silver Bullet Band, but Bob found out axl liked dudes and said "peace the fuck out bitch...Ya Heard?" And ever since axl was a bitchboy...Ya Heard?

Tips to help you create better videos

1. Eye Candy.
Think about some of your favorite videos, ask yourself, what interesting shots and b-roll need to be captured to make your video entertaining to watch.

2. Good Lighting.
The main difference between amateur and professional videos is the quality of the lighting. Poor lighting creates graininess and poor quality videos too. (*Hint* In most studios, the lights and the cameras can be adjusted up and down to get the correct amount of light.) For your home studio make use of fluorescent light bulbs. These bulbs produce a nice soft light with no harsh shadows. You can buy fluorescent light kits or you can save a lot of money and make your own fluorescent light box. It is best to use a three point lighting system which is fairly standard in most studios.

3. Tripod.
Use a tripod for shake free shooting. Tripods come in all sizes and quality. Most camcorders used today are only small and weigh very little so there is no need to buy a tripod to suit a heavy professional video camera.

4. Microphone.
The built in microphone on your camcorder is not the best to use if you can avoid it. Buy a directional one that can be mounted on top of your camcorder. Otherwise mount the microphone on a boom or support just out of view of the camcorder but close to the subject. Another option is to use a microphone that clips onto your lapel and as used by newsreaders on television. These are very effective and can be purchased for less than $50. No need to buy a wireless unit, but you need enough cable to run from the camcorder remote microphone, up the inside of your shirt and to your lapel. Bear in mind that you will normally be seated within six feet of the camcorder so the microphone should have plenty of cable.

5. Avoid Zooming and Panning.
Avoid zooming in and out and panning from side to side as much as possible. It is recommended that you set the zoom prior to recording.

6. Pre-Roll and Post-Roll.
Allow a few extra seconds after starting and before stopping the camcorder and the actual start and finish of the action you want to record. This allows for better editing once the shooting is over. Not allowing for the pre-roll and post-roll can make editing difficult. If you are filming yourself then start the camcorder recording with the remote control, wait six seconds before you start talking and at the end let the camcorder run an extra six seconds before stopping. This will give you plenty of time when editing.

7. Remember It is A Small Screen.
When shooting videos to add to your web site, normally the player will be 320 x 240 so avoid wide scenes, keep it close to see the detail. If you are filming yourself talking, you should be within six feet of the camera and preferably from the waist up. Keep the content simple and uncomplicated, do not have much happening in the video and keep it quiet-on-the-set.

8. Think Like a Photographer.
When shooting a video, do it like a photographer taking individual shots. Plan your video shoot, record for a short while from one position then stop recording, reposition the camera or yourself then shoot again. This will reduce excessive camera movement in your video. Using these tips will ensure that you can shoot and produce quality website videos of a better quality than most people. Remember, practice makes perfect and soon you will be getting great results on the first take.

9. Look at the Details.
Sometimes, you are so focused on your subject that you do not notice the surrounding elements of the scene. Only later, when you are reviewing the footage do you notice an unsightly trash can in the background or a tree sticking out of your subjects head. I like to scan the video screen carefully before shooting to make sure there is nothing in the shot that I may have overlooked. You may be surprised what you find!

Use our search feature, at the top of the page, to find videos about your favorite topics. There are tons of videos, for example, type in "Bikini contest", "Body building", "Guitar lesson", or "How to (anything)". Search for "Commercial", you will see cool ads and funny commercials. Notice the video techniques used to capture each video, you may very well find many helpful tips and tricks to use as well as many techniques to avoid when making your own videos... have fun.
