Agreed. Imagine how much better off the world would be if Al Gore had won the last election. I guess that's what happens when you have a born again Christian running for president in a country where around half its voters think the world is 6,000 years old.

wow...he didnt even mention faith at all in his speech. so the powers that be will tell you what they believe to make the original topic seem a bit false. being green is something that all of us can learn from. the native american culture had the ability to do this why cant we! to all that feel the ability to prove this subject false please do your research. doing nothing to promote a monetary value system is a disease that needs to have cure. its up to us to pass a torch of change...
I agree, the west ... ( 1 month ago by Xenophanes21)
I agree, the west had this false assumption in the history of society that we are here to manipulate and use nature. Eastern thought and native thought to a higher extent did not have this assumption. They understood our dependence on nature. We NEED to learn this from them. I love that Gore didn't just disappear after his vice presidency; like a lot of others. He did something with his name, he did more than he could as a president (in an academic sense, and opinion wise).

Al Gore is just a governmental stooge... Point #12 he urges people to become "politically active," but at the end of the video he says it isn't a political issue. Which is it Mr. Gore?
Re: being both a ... ( 1 month ago by Nightversionn)
Re: being both a political issue and not a political issue. I think one has to break it down always by intention. Climate change is of course a political issue. We need our leaders to recognize and address what is happening so that we can avoid environmental catastrophe. But at the same time let's not make it a political issue in order to further agendas that are not rooted in honesty and well-being for humankind. So it is both a political issue but it shouldn't be used dishonestly
On the last part I ... ( 1 month ago by Nightversionn)
On the last part I mean that those who use climate change denial or misinformation to make it a political issue, as I've seen it done so often in the United States, shouldn't make it a political issue to further dishonest agendas. Because then the intention is totally different
btw 'global warming ... ( 1 month ago by Animalll2003lll)
btw 'global warming' is apparently natural. just like all the previous warmings in recent history (middle ages much warmer than us, and then, drop to much colder than us in the 17th century). if CO2 has an influence, well we don't see it clearly. and influence of CO2 decreases logarithmicly.
this means that ... ( 1 month ago by Animalll2003lll)
this means that increasing CO2 more and more affects less and less the warming. this means that after a certain point, which we already reached, CO2 doesn't have much greenhouse effect anymore. so we might increase the warming a tiny bit, but honestly we don'T see it right now, the warming is just similar to what we've seen in the last centuries--and still in the average. so honestly, no worries, global warming is just a media burst, a public paranoia.
in particular, a ' ... ( 1 month ago by Animalll2003lll)
in particular, a 'carbon neutral life' is ridiculous--that's just exploiting people's guilt. honestly that's just a trick to 'spread the word' and self sustain it, just like in religions--control people--like, 'you'll go to hell'.
there's one good reason we have to go green soon though: oil depletion. from now on, oil is going to become more and more rare. so in the next decades we'll have to go green if we don't want to see our life standard go down. to avoid doing like GM.

research Venus dude... it has a much higher level of CO2 and is much much hotter than us. Don't say sh*t like this, act now before it's too late!

lol! act now before it's too late! nice, that's really funny!! very bad argument btw. it doesn't mean venus' situation has anything to do with the Earth-- it's really different.
I don't know so much about this. I mean I'm just reading stuff. but what's really obvious is that the alarmist global warming stories spread very well, just like the UFOs and the fear of a nuclear war or movies like koyaanisqatsi and shit. all this is pressing on the fear button.
it IS alarming! the ... ( 2 weeks ago by USAneedsaChange)
it IS alarming! the arctic is melting at an alarming rate and glaciers all over the world have melted A LOT already.
and Venus is relevant because it's so hot on Venus to a large extent due to it's global warming caused by it's CO2-filled atmosphere!
yeaah. but it might ... ( 2 weeks ago by Animalll2003lll)
yeaah. but it might be natural. that's the thing. CO2 might not play such a big role in warming the planet. the planet has been way warmer before, and has managed to come down. CO2 and temperature do not correlate on the long term (M of yrs). in the short term (hundreds of yrs) they correlate because CO2 gets trapped in the oceans when it gets cooler.
CO2 has a role, but tiny. water vapor has a much much bigger green house effect, yet we have so much. global warming is a paranoia.like UFOs.
it doesn't have a ... ( 2 weeks ago by USAneedsaChange)
it doesn't have a tiny role. methane is much more powerful, but CO2 is very important. As I said, Venus is much much hotter than expected and the unexpected extra heat(they knew it would be hot, but not hot enough to melt led) is due to CO2.
lots of things are uncertain and need understanding, but they learned about CO2's heat-trapping ability in the 1900th century. Stay open, but all possible signs point to that this IS as serious as it can get pretty much.

No Venus warming is because of its huge atmosphere. Mars also has a higher CO2 content in its air when compared to earth. But due to its thinner atmosphere its a lot colder.

Tips to help you create better videos

1. Eye Candy.
Think about some of your favorite videos, ask yourself, what interesting shots and b-roll need to be captured to make your video entertaining to watch.

2. Good Lighting.
The main difference between amateur and professional videos is the quality of the lighting. Poor lighting creates graininess and poor quality videos too. (*Hint* In most studios, the lights and the cameras can be adjusted up and down to get the correct amount of light.) For your home studio make use of fluorescent light bulbs. These bulbs produce a nice soft light with no harsh shadows. You can buy fluorescent light kits or you can save a lot of money and make your own fluorescent light box. It is best to use a three point lighting system which is fairly standard in most studios.

3. Tripod.
Use a tripod for shake free shooting. Tripods come in all sizes and quality. Most camcorders used today are only small and weigh very little so there is no need to buy a tripod to suit a heavy professional video camera.

4. Microphone.
The built in microphone on your camcorder is not the best to use if you can avoid it. Buy a directional one that can be mounted on top of your camcorder. Otherwise mount the microphone on a boom or support just out of view of the camcorder but close to the subject. Another option is to use a microphone that clips onto your lapel and as used by newsreaders on television. These are very effective and can be purchased for less than $50. No need to buy a wireless unit, but you need enough cable to run from the camcorder remote microphone, up the inside of your shirt and to your lapel. Bear in mind that you will normally be seated within six feet of the camcorder so the microphone should have plenty of cable.

5. Avoid Zooming and Panning.
Avoid zooming in and out and panning from side to side as much as possible. It is recommended that you set the zoom prior to recording.

6. Pre-Roll and Post-Roll.
Allow a few extra seconds after starting and before stopping the camcorder and the actual start and finish of the action you want to record. This allows for better editing once the shooting is over. Not allowing for the pre-roll and post-roll can make editing difficult. If you are filming yourself then start the camcorder recording with the remote control, wait six seconds before you start talking and at the end let the camcorder run an extra six seconds before stopping. This will give you plenty of time when editing.

7. Remember It is A Small Screen.
When shooting videos to add to your web site, normally the player will be 320 x 240 so avoid wide scenes, keep it close to see the detail. If you are filming yourself talking, you should be within six feet of the camera and preferably from the waist up. Keep the content simple and uncomplicated, do not have much happening in the video and keep it quiet-on-the-set.

8. Think Like a Photographer.
When shooting a video, do it like a photographer taking individual shots. Plan your video shoot, record for a short while from one position then stop recording, reposition the camera or yourself then shoot again. This will reduce excessive camera movement in your video. Using these tips will ensure that you can shoot and produce quality website videos of a better quality than most people. Remember, practice makes perfect and soon you will be getting great results on the first take.

9. Look at the Details.
Sometimes, you are so focused on your subject that you do not notice the surrounding elements of the scene. Only later, when you are reviewing the footage do you notice an unsightly trash can in the background or a tree sticking out of your subjects head. I like to scan the video screen carefully before shooting to make sure there is nothing in the shot that I may have overlooked. You may be surprised what you find!

Use our search feature, at the top of the page, to find videos about your favorite topics. There are tons of videos, for example, type in "Bikini contest", "Body building", "Guitar lesson", or "How to (anything)". Search for "Commercial", you will see cool ads and funny commercials. Notice the video techniques used to capture each video, you may very well find many helpful tips and tricks to use as well as many techniques to avoid when making your own videos... have fun.
